Hi, my name is Sydney!
I'm a freelance copyeditor, content creator, and literary critic, and full-time undergraduate admission counselor. In the spare time I find I'm pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing with a concentration in YA fiction and an online teaching certificate. I will be graduating from Southern New Hampshire University fall 2026.
I started writing at the ripe age of five, directing and starring in my own play. At 14, I created an Instagram account devoted solely to my love of books. Today, that account has over 6,000 followers and is a platform where I regularly review and market books for publishers and authors. And at 19 years old, Goodreads featured me as a bookstagrammer.
If writing and editing were two circles of a Venn Diagram I would be the third bit in the middle. Since 2018, I have published poems in multiple publications, including AWE: An American Woman's Experience and Kula Manu; written and copyedited several academic publications including Impact Magazine and Y Magazine; and contributed an article about gender inequality at the national level of women's sports for the Marriott School of Business's journal.
In 2022, a poetry collection I edited called "Hopscotch Brain" was self-published on Amazon, and I recently copyedited "The Holidate Switch" by Torie Jean, which is available on Kindle Unlimited as of January 1, 2025.
My dream is to work in children's publishing, influencing the rising generation with stories that changed my life, creating a world with more empathy and inclusion.
